Boker double edge safety razor Boraso Chrome
'I thought (after switching from commercial shaving systems with multiple blades) that I would have to compromise on comfort compared to quality, that is not the case, the blade feels comfortable while shaving. However, the technology will have to be tightened up. The knife feels nice and solid, I prefer a slightly heavier knife. Apart from the handle, the head looks a bit "plastic/chrome-like", which does not detract from the finish and overall quality.'

Great for wet shaving your head. Works much better than a regular knife or with a machine. Use it every 2 days and your head will remain nice and soft.
DOVO straight razor Best Quality 5/8" - 125803810
My first straight razor! 5 years old but still loved! It almost needs to be sharpened but still shaves nicely! When the little children finally allow it, the shaving belt is at the door, a jar of grease and a cloth are added along the belt, clean the blade, make a quarter of wet soap, apply some oil on my face and enjoy my blade.

Beautiful straight razor with gold etching. There is no play at all on the blade and handle, making the knife comfortable to hold. As stated in the product information, the blade is delivered sharpened, making it immediately ready to shave (just require some stropping).

This is a particularly beautifully finished razor. It has a weight that makes it fit well in the hand and a perfect grip. I agree with the other reviewers that it is a little more aggressive. However, this does not necessarily mean a smoother shave. With my Edwin Jagger DE86 I also get a perfectly smooth shave. Perhaps something to take into account given the slightly higher price of this 3one6. As an enthusiastic shearer, I am very happy with it. It is and remains a very nice gadget.

The razor looks very nice and is well finished. The design has also received a lot of attention. Blades are clamped in a very snug fit without any play and the handle provides a good grip, even wet. I used the supplied Feather blades.
Compared to my daily used Feather AS-D2 knife, also loaded with a Feather blade, this knife is clearly more aggressive. I have to be careful not to cut myself, but maybe I'm just too used to the forgiving Feather. The shaving feeling is very good, you get good feedback from the blade. For me, a knife that I will not use every day, but mainly at the weekend and when I want a really close shave.

Very good razor, slightly aggressive, but not really noteworthy. Fits comfortably in the hand with excellent balance and nice weight. Recommended, but unfortunately difficult to obtain.

I've been looking for a razor that meets all my needs for a long time, and I think this is it. I have had several knives, such as Merkur Progress and Futur, of which the Progress was my favorite. I thought the Futur was too bulky, especially around my nose. Unfortunately, the chrome came loose under the head of the Progress (dirt stuck to it). This cannot happen with a completely stainless steel knife. As a fixed knife I also have the Muhle R89 identical to E Jagger DE89 and the new knife could be a little more aggressive than the 89. The 3one6 is this too, not too mild and not aggressive, a real knife for every day for a lifetime ;- )
Feather double edge safety razor adjustable DER-A
I just shaved with it and I am very pleasantly surprised by this scraper, the 2x against the grain under the nose, which is a problem zone for me, I can only say, perfect, no irritation, just very slippery in 2 passes with the additional supplied feather blades.
Merkur 34C double edge safety razor

After years of Gillette mach3 switched to safety razor. First practice for a month with a razor from the wholesaler. The result was soon better than the Gillette. Purchased the Merkur 34C last week. Relief!
Tomorrow I will start the fifth day with the first (immediately purchased) Astra DE blade. Still great results. After day five I will have to get a new one. The razor is a bit small, but after a week you wouldn't want anything else. Feels safer than the Gillette. Very accurate. Result much better. Just the feeling of having such a beautiful device in your hand...

I was completely fed up with the high prices of the well-known cartridge blades and my skin was quite red every time after shaving (even with a fresh cartridge). After some research I read about "old fashioned" safety razors and their benefits. I ended up with this Merkur 34C.
It's now 2021 and I still use it a few times a week. After almost 10 years, the 34c (with minimal maintenance) still looks just like it did when I bought it. It is easy to clean with an old toothbrush and some hand soap.
I remember being quite nervous about the first use, but it was actually very easy and smooth. There are plenty of videos on the internet for the beginner and after trying twice you will get the hang of it.
For beginners, I would recommend trying a trial package with different brands of blades. I ended up with Feather myself.
The initial investment may seem a bit higher, but you will save for the rest of your life and you will have a better shaving experience!

The short handle makes the knife comfortable to hold, this combined with the weight ensures that you don't have to exert much pressure for a smooth shave and you can let the knife do the work. In addition, the knife consists of two parts, making it easy to clean.
Because of the closed comb, this razor is very suitable for the novice Double Edge shaver. If you are looking for your first Double edge razor, I can definitely recommend the 34C.

Use the Merkur 34C for about three months. Fits well in the hand and is very user-friendly. Use it for beard contouring. The short handle is then a + point. I'm always happy that I have to make some adjustments with such a pleasant gadget.

Despite all modern inventions in the field of wet shaving; but this is it! It shaves great! Just soap up the old-fashioned way with a good shaving cream and a good brush; and then shave! Well checked, of course, but in no time the hairs will be safely removed from where you did not want them (anymore). To the man reading this review; It is also a nice gift for your wife or girlfriend.
And also in the context of “and now put the brakes on; I choose recyclable material where possible”; Then you can kill two birds with one stone with this shaver.

Been using for over a week now. I used Gillette, so it's better. Difficult hairs are also easier to remove. I had no problems with the transition, but I did start cautiously. As long as the curve for the blade of the holder touches your skin, you're good. Includes a knife.

What wonderful old-fashioned scents that bring back many memories when my father and grandfather used to shave.
The video tutorials are very valuable. The first time went almost perfectly, except for a few small spots of blood. That was actually due to acting nonchalantly because things were going well. This also applies: just persevere and don't give up too quickly. After a few times it gets better and you enjoy the result.

Shaving with a safety razor is a completely new experience for me. And what kind. In one word ENJOY! If only I had tried my grandfather's THE razor about 30 years ago. As a teenager I thought that was old-fashioned. However, better late than never and that certainly applies to me. Because all my life I have been using modern high-end shaving systems from leading brands. As far as I'm concerned, this is now a thing of the past and can go straight into the trash.
As a beginner, I think I made a very good choice with the Mūhle companion. During my first shave I followed pretty much all the directions and tips in the tutorials.
The result is astonishing:
- easy to handle; pressure, angle and contour following as if I had never been used to anything else.
- no tight feeling at all unlike a modern knife; hardly the feeling of shaving, but rather the feeling of removing shaving foam. Like a hot knife through butter.
- no razor burn/redness with my sensitive skin; you could barely tell that I was freshly shaven.
- With a little technique and the extra closed shaving head, no cuts were sustained.
- perfect, smooth and very comfortable shave.
- In addition, shaving took less time for me, even though I took it slower with the safety razor; fewer shaving movements and much less time over the same spot.
- hopefully rashes and painful ingrown hairs will finally be a thing of the past.
This way, shaving is something to look forward to with pleasure and a pleasure to pamper your face.

Been in use for some time. Due to the narrow gap between blade and device, there is little chance of cutting. Tried it out with the sharpest blade, the Feather. No problem. Gives a smooth shave and no razor burn. Can recommend it for the use of more aggressive and sharp to very sharp blades.
