Which safety razor should I buy?

Welke safety razor moet ik kopen? - Manandshaving

Why is shaving with a safety razor so popular?

In 2009, we began reintroducing and selling safety razors. At that time, safety razors, or double edge razors, were almost no longer available for purchase in the Netherlands and Belgium. Today, more and more men are banning modern multiblade or cartridge razors. They are switching to safety razors. Worldwide, billions of men shave daily with this type of razor. And that is not surprising. 99% of people who switch and now wet shave with a safety razor are enthusiastic. Our customers say it even shaves better, more comfortably, more smoothly, and faster than Gillette Mach3 and Fusion, Wilkinson Quattro, and Boldking.

Is shaving with a safety razor difficult?

Shaving with a safety razor does not mean learning to shave all over again. It takes a little getting used to at first. After one week, you will have mastered it completely, and it will shave just as easily and quickly as a modern razor.

What are the benefits of the safety razor?

But what are the benefits? Here they are:

  1. It shaves better, more comfortably, more smoothly, and faster
  2. Fewer ingrown hairs and other shaving irritations
  3. More affordable than the modern cartridge razor: individual double edge blades cost an average of € 0.30 each
  4. More durable and environmentally friendly: the individual double edge blades are made of metal and contain no plastic
  5. Suitable for every skin type (normal and sensitive skin), beard type (light to heavy beard) and beard length (stubble to week-old beard)
  6. More suitable for shaving beard contours
  7. Universal shaving system: all brands of double edge blades fit all safety razor handles
  8. Customization: the different shaving properties of the individual blades and razor handles can be combined and fully tailored to your skin type and beard growth

Which safety razor is right for me?

There is plenty of choice. The advantage, of course, is that there is always a razor that suits you. But which razor is best for me?

Degree of adjustment to personal shaving technique I just want to shave my face in one way.

Which safety razor best suits my beard growth?

For light stubble or light beard growth, you can shave perfectly with a lightweight safety razor, such as the razor with the convenient butterfly closure. Do you have normal or heavy beard growth? Then you will benefit greatly from a somewhat heavier razor. These are the razors with a closed-comb shaving head. Do you have extremely coarse stubble but still want a quick, smooth and comfortable shave? Then use a safety razor with an open-tooth-comb shaving head. Please note that razors with an open tooth comb shave somewhat more directly or aggressively compared with regular safety razors with a closed comb.

Which safety razor is best suited to my skin?

Do you have sensitive skin and quickly develop dry, red skin or a burning sensation after shaving? In that case, you should use a mild razor. A mild razor is light to medium-weight and has a closed-comb head.

With normal or tough skin, you can use a slightly more aggressive razor. This razor has a little more weight or a closed-comb head. If you have particularly tough skin, you can also use a razor with a more aggressive open comb.

Which safety razor should I use if I shave daily or every other week?

If you shave daily, your beard stubble is short. Use a regular safety razor with a closed comb. Do you have a week-old beard or shave once every two weeks? Then the beard hairs have grown to a considerable length. A razor with an open comb shaves longer hairs more efficiently.

Which safety razor is convenient for shaving my beard?

If you have a beard, it is important to be able to shave the beard contours precisely. A light to medium-weight safety razor with a closed comb is the perfect tool for shaving beard edges. A closed-comb razor head has a rectangular shape. This lets you know exactly where the razor is cutting and shaving.

I want to be able to adjust the aggressiveness of the razor. Which safety razor should I buy?

The shaving surface of your skin varies across different parts of your face. The cheeks are easy and flat. The beard hairs here are soft. The chin is difficult and rounded. This is where the hardest beard hairs are usually found. The skin directly under the nose is thin and sensitive. The neck area is also sensitive. Moreover, getting a smooth shave on the soft skin of your neck is never perfect in one go. Would you like to shave smoothly, efficiently, and comfortably? Then use an adjustable safety razor. An adjustable razor has different shaving settings. You can adjust it while shaving to mild, medium, or aggressive.

Early in the morning, I want to shave easily and quickly. Which safety razor should I buy?

In the morning, we’re not fully awake or dexterous yet. Don’t want too much fuss and hassle in the morning? Then use a safety razor with the convenient and efficient butterfly-opening or twist-to-open mechanism. Simply turn the handle and the razor head opens. Place the razor blade in the head and twist it closed again. Ready to use.

Also useful are safety razors whose lower head section is attached to the handle. The upper section is secured with a screw thread. Unscrew the upper section. Place the blade in the razor head and screw everything back together.
