Everything under control with the right pomade
Every now and then you stand desperately with your hands in your hair. The hair doesn't cooperate and is unmanageable. The hair doesn't sit in the right style. Very annoying. You have other things on your mind early in the morning when you're fiddling with your hairstyle in front of the mirror. Fortunately, you have all sorts of handy tools. Our motto is always: "Whatever happens, as long as your hair looks good." And to do that well, you need a pomade. In this blog, we tell you what's available on the market and how to use it.
Which pomade should I buy?
Always first determine what you want for yourself. If necessary, get advice from your barber or hairdresser. For example, if you have thin hair and want more volume and firmness. Or want to keep springy curly hair more under control with a firm pomade. Do you prefer a natural matte shine in the hair or a super shine gloss.
Basically, there are 2 types of pomades. The classic wax pomade based on (animal) fat, paraffin, and beeswax. And the pomade based on water and (vegetable) oil. A water-based pomade is easy to apply and dries quickly. Your hairstyle will stay perfectly in shape all day. A pomade based on oily oil or wax will not dry out in the hair. This allows you to restyle your hair all day. This pomade is harder to wash out than a water-based hair gel.

How do you use a pomade?
The best way to apply your hair gel or pomade is on towel-dried hair. This allows you to apply and distribute it better. Depending on the amount of hair, take a small amount of pomade from the jar with your finger or nail, about the size of a hazelnut. Rub a small amount between your palms or fingers. Distribute and work it evenly and thoroughly. Optionally, use a comb or brush to further distribute it nicely. Then style your hair.
