The alum block has multiple effects. Because shaving soaps are basic, they can raise the skin's pH value. Because alum lowers the acidity, it normalizes the skin's pH value. It neutralizes the soap components in the skin pores. It also has a disinfecting and astringent effect. Astringent means that the skin pores close and normalize. Additionally, it has a mild blood-stopping effect and reduces the burning sensation after shaving.

Stops bleeding, closes skin cuts, and relieves burning sensation after shaving.
Usage
Use after shaving. Moisten the alum block with cold water and gently rub on the skin and skin cuts. Avoid contact with eyes or mucous membranes.
Alum is also suitable to prepare the skin for electric shaving. Use it before shaving in that case.
